"Are you actually saying it to anyone?" he asks quietly, resting his hand on John's neck. Not quite toying with his hair, but his fingers comb through it to push it back and find his nape. "Or are you just letting it sit in your mind and fester? Sometimes it helps to just... get things out in the open. Let the wound, so to speak, get the infection out before it turns septic."
