"Inmates are far less prudent about sharing their opinions in person to need to document them in a ledger, I've noticed by now," he says dryly. "Whereas due to the nature of temporary wardens, documenting that sort of information on ways to help the inmate is good praxis. It's a log of useful information versus a gossip rag."
